Orthodontics at Delight Dental Spa

Beautiful Smile and Healthy Mouth

Our teeth are one of the first things others notice about us. Are you proud of your smile?

At Delight Dental Spa, we offer two strategies: traditional orthodontic bracing and the more discreet Invisalign®. Both treatments shift your teeth into proper position. And each has its benefits and challenges.

Which approach makes the most sense for you?

Traditional Bracing

Adult woman wearing traditional bracesIf crooked or crowded teeth have you feeling self-conscious about your smile, consider conventional orthodontics. Braces use coloured metal or resin brackets that attach to your teeth, joined by wires inside the mouth. Elastics are often used to help bring teeth into alignment.

Braces can help correct crooked teeth, overbites, under bites, and jaw position. These and other dental issues can lead to a variety of oral health problems. In fact, a misaligned bite is strongly linked with tooth decay and gum disease. Correction can not only improve your smile, but enhance the health of your mouth.

Dental braces are often the preferred approach for younger patients or more complex cases.

Woman inserting invisible alignersThis an innovative product from America. It uses clear aligners that are changed every fortnight to slowly nudge your teeth into a straighter position. The invisible aligners make it easy to enjoy a beautiful, healthy bite. No brackets. No wires.

Many of our patients prefer this almost invisible approach to improving their smile. Unlike conventional braces, the clear aligners are removable, allowing you to eat your favourite foods. Generally, this approach requires fewer follow up appointments.

Choose Invisalign® if you prefer a more discreet approach to improving your smile.

Braces or Invisalign®?

Whether you choose regular braces or Invisalign®, be prepared to commit to following our recommendations for their proper use and cleaning. Both must be worn all day, however Invisalign trays are removed when eating. The treatment time for braces or Invisalign® is similar, averaging about 16 months.
